I’m sure I’m not the only one to have experienced this; those times when you remember something coming up that you are absolutely dreading. (I’m terrible for this, I get a horrible feeling when I remember that there is something big or important on the horizon that I just have to do.)

But the way I have learned to deal with this is to embrace it, to see it as a challenge, a thrill or an accomplishment. In my life I have to perform onstage quite a lot and I have to approach people I don’t know to network with them. This used to be daunting for me, but not anymore. These days I get a buzz from overcoming that fear and so I should! Because overcoming fear will allow you to progress.

Next time you’re dreading a big exam or worrying about a job interview (whatever your storm is) stand up, stare it in the face and smile, because you won’t let it take you down.
